Happy freaking Wrestlemania Day people!
Sometimes Wrestlemania week, weekend, and day of, seems like one giant holiday and I’ve never even attended one before. Even from home, there is so much to follow along with and get excited about. This match card is HUGE, and I’m wondering if we’ll even be done by 2am. ( and the weather is predicting rain could start anywhere from 1am-3am, because you know they’re hardly ever accurate, so I hope it holds off ). We have so many heartfelt stories being told tonight but the one, for me, that is the biggest, is the Women are Main eventing the show of shows for the first time ever. This tops every other first they’ve had so far, and probably will have after, and I am so incredibly inspired to see years of hard work and determination from so many generations of WWE Women get to this point. Also, Alexa Bliss hosting? Could not be any better, honestly. This show is going to be LONG, but true fans will stick it out and we’ll be rewarded for it, I hope! Let’s get into some predictions shall we?
Winner Take All — Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Becky Lynch:
As a lady, I am BEAMING about the girls main eventing. They’ve had so many firsts and so many big moments and broken down so many barriers, and yet, I was still so unsure if we’d ever see this, especially this soon. There is not a single doubt in my mind that they are going to blow the roof off the place, and I’ll be bursting with happiness the entire time. I cannot see a way this doesn’t end with Becky Lynch standing tall. She’s been through EVERYTHING, and even if Charlotte is the Queen of WWE, Becky Lynch will be the Rebel of Wrestlemania, and there is no way the show should end any way other than with her raising gold, up high. Winner: Becky Lynch.
Universal Championship — Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Seth Rollins:
I think I hardly have to get into this. Rollins. Obviously. NO other option. Seth Rollins will Burn Lesnar down. Winner: Seth Rollins.
WWE Championship — Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Kofi Kingston:
We all have our favorite WWE superstars that we rally behind 24/7, but it’s been a long time since someone’s journey has had me backing them so hard. Honestly, Daniel Bryan Circa Wrestlemania 30 might be the last time, and that’s just so ironic yet so beautiful. Kofi Kingston has been a guy that I thought deserved that top spot for a LONG time, way before this push, and to see it finally all coming together gives me so much happiness. Everything Kofi has said in the promos leading up to this has been 100% truth, and 100% passion and much like the Becky Lynch scenario how do you have this match end any way than with the guy who has been nothing but a loyal workhorse for you for ELEVEN years. It’s the only answer. Winner: Kofi freaking Kingston.
Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre:
I am so, so, so, so, happy to see McIntyre getting this singles match. Back in the day, I was rooting for him to be in this spot and he took his own path, but it finally happened. And he is the perfect opponent for Reigns. They compliment each other in the ring, and I think this match is going to fantastic. I’ve been having a hard time deciding who I want to win it though. Because Roman is my guy and he just kicked Cancers ass and WrestleMania is the stage that he truly shines on, but again, McIntyre is the guy that is still probably “considered” up and coming, compared to Reigns at least, and maybe he needs this win more. But I know myself, and as I said Roman is my guy so… Winner: Roman Reigns.
AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton.
This might be the match that people aren’t paying too much attention too because there is so much else going on, so many big fights, but this one has the potential to really shock us. Both competitors are incredible wrestlers, and in-ring psychologists so there story that can be told will be brilliant. I also think this is going to be one of Orton’ better match ups that he’s had I recent yet, one that will really bring out the best in him. That being said, Winner: AJ Styles.
Triple H vs. Batista (No Holds Barred; Triple H’s career on the line):
If we are going through all of this, Batista returning, attacking Flair, no holds barred, HHH career on the line, all for HHH to still win, then I’m going to be fairly disappointed. Triple H is the guy that stays away from the ring for so long and then comes back for one match and moves around like he never took any time off, he’s still so good. And yet he has SO MUCH on his plate right now, that I can 100% see how he could be ready to completely put his in-ring career away. And Batista is indeed the best available person to do it. They have such a history, such a story and even the two never said a word to each other, it wouldn’t matter because the history hypes the match more than anything the two could ever say. This is going to be a good one for sure. Winner: Batista.
Intercontinental Championship — Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Finn Balor:
Balor. The Demon. Of course. I wish that they hadn’t spoiled the fact that Balor was bringing the Demon to WrestleMania. I think having it be a surprise (even if everyone also speculated) would have gotten a huge pop. (even though it still will.) There’s something about the Demon that is so just different, and it gets in your head, and I don’t think Lashley up for it. Winner: The demon, Finn Balor.
United States Championship — Samoa Joe (c) vs. Rey Mysterio:
I’m really glad it seems that Mysterio is going to be all healed up and ready to go tonight against Joe because this is a match I didn’t realize I wanted till it was set, even if I did have another idea for both of them myself. As much as I enjoy watching Rey in the ring, I cannot see a guy like Joe only holding on to this title for such a short amount of time. I don’t believe his time will be up tonight. Winner: Samoa Joe.
Women’s Tag Team Championship — Sasha Banks & Bayley (c) vs. Beth Phoenix & Natalya vs. Nia Jax & Tamina Snuka vs. The IIconics:
I mentioned it before, but this is one match that they got EXACTLY right. It is exactly what I wanted, and I cannot name the last time that happened. For the first time that these new championships are going to be defended at Mania, you have the four best teams right now to do it. I’m so glad they brought Beth out of retirement for it because you can tell the passion she has for the women anytime they break a barrier, and now she gets to be a part of one. She worked her ass off so these girls could have what they have now, and I’m thrilled she gets to step in there and with Nattie of course. If Beth and Natalya walked out of WrestleMania with the Women’s tag team titles tonight, I would be the HAPPIEST girl in the world, because they are MY girls. But I think we’re getting something different, and something that I’d be equally happy with. Winner: The IIconics.
The Miz vs. Shane McMahon (Falls Count Anywhere):
This is going to be a hell of a throw down, and I’m here for it. This is one of the best backed up fights we’ve seen enter WrestleMania in a while. They’ve been setting this up for MONTHS, and it’s a rarity that we see that anymore with the amount of PPV’s we have now. The falls count, anywhere stipulation also adds so much to it, that I hope Shane doesn’t go too crazy and hurt himself jumping off things he shouldn’t be jumping off of, but we all know Shane, and I’m sure he’s going to scare the shit out of us. Winner: The Miz. He’s defending his father, his family honor, and that’ll get him the win tonight.
Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin (Farewell Match):
I still hate this match. And until it’s over, I’ll be holding out hope that they swerve us and John Cena ends up being his opponent instead. I’m sure this is big for Corbin as a human, I’m sure he’s anxious, and whatnot and I’m sure he probably deserves a match like this, but not this one. The real story is Angle vs. Cena. But either way, Baron or Cena, Winner: Kurt Angle.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship — The Usos (c) vs. Ricochet & Aleister Black vs. The Bar vs. Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura:
So glad that they Usos got a Mania match at the last seconds because it would have been a travesty otherwise. I know lots were hoping for Usos vs. Hardys, and honestly, that’s the match that we deserve, but it’s not what we’re getting. Nonetheless, this match will still be wonderful. I think the addition of Ricochet and Black are going to change this up in the best way, and if they won, I’d be over the moon. But in my heart, Winner: The Usos. Since Day One baby.
Raw Tag Team Championship — The Revival (c) vs. Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins
I like this curveball that they threw making Ryder and Hawkins the Revival opponents. I genuinely think that this match could be one of the best of the entire night. All four guys are incredibly passionate about this business, this sport and they’re going to pour everything into this match. As much of a heartfelt moment as it would be for Hawkins losing streak to end and Ryder and him to get that Mania moment… I just don’t’ see it happening. Winners: The Revival.
Cruiserweight Championship — Buddy Murphy (c) vs. Tony Nese (Kickoff Show)
I hope that they put this match on first on the kickoff only because it would get the show rolling. These two are incredible performers, and whether there are 50 people in the stands at this time or thousands, they’re going to give us a treat that I certainly wouldn’t want to miss. This could be Nese time, but I think Winner: Murphy retains.
Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (Kickoff Show):
Confirmed entrants: Braun Strowman, Michael Che, Colin Jost, Andrade, Apollo Crews, Titus O’Neil, Tyler Breeze, Jinder Mahal, No Way Jose, Bobby Roode, Chad Gable, Lucha House Party, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel, Heath Slater, Rhyno, Viktor, Konnor, Ali, Shelton Benjamin, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Otis, Tucker, EC3
I am glad that they put both battle royals on the kickoff, because with the card they have, that is what makes sense. Of course, Braun Strowman is the front runner to win if Che and Jost don’t mess that up. It’d be cool to see Andrade, who I was having the singles match with Rey, get a win here, or a guy like Apollo. I’m excited for a fun little match to get us ready to go.
Women’s Battle Royal (Kickoff Show):
Confirmed Entrants: Asuka, Carmella, Naomi, Lana, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Nikki Cross, Dana Brooke, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan, Mickie James, Zelina Vega.
Last night at the Hall of fame, X Pac mentioned that the Chyna Memorial Battle Royal had a nice ring to it, and I could not agree more, and I’d be so happy if they named it that! As far as a winner goes? Any of these ladies and anyone they throw into it would be great, but if I’m choosing three options: Zelina, Ruby, Sonya, okay four choices, and Nikki cross.
