Celebrating Women!

Happy International Womens’ Day !

Every womens day is important but there’s something about this one that is extra special. We’ve learned recently what most of us already knew, that women are strong apart and even stronger together. When we’re faced with adversity we come out swinging. That’s what women do. This day isn’t to put down men, or make ourselves out to be more superior, it’s to recognize equality, recognize that women are trailblazers, rolemodels and down right amazing. Whether you’re a women in business, TV, staying at home, teaching, saving lives, being a librarian, or any of the millions and millions of roles women hold, you are all down right amazing, regardless of your race, religion, sexuality or any other reason society says you don’t matter… you do, we all do.

I decided in honor of today I’d put together a post with some women in Entertainment that I sincerely look up too!

The Women of WWE.

of course right 😉

I cannot stress enough how much these ladies inspire and motivate me every single day! Nattie and Nikki remind me daily to stay unbreakable and be fearless. They aren’t just slogans, it’s a way of life. They help remind me that life is tough but so am I. Brie Bella is my spirit animal. We’re both earth loving vegetarian hippies and I absolutely adore this women, always reminding me to keep a kind heart. Charlotte is such a strong hardworking woman, working every day to prove everyone wrong, reminds me to be the best version of herself. Summer Rae & Celeste Bonin are my ultimate fitness inspiration. They the definition of what fitness and beauty is! I do Trish Stratus yoga just about daily and it’s helped me SO MUCH! All these ladies, are so special in their own way and they’ve brought so much women empowerment into what used to be a male dominate business and it’s been incredible to continue to watch!  I’m eternally grateful for them.

Sophia Bush and Mariska Hargitay

Ive been watching Mariska as Olivia Benson on SVU for as long as I can remember and I fell in love with Sophia Bush on OTH and followed her to Chicago PD. Both of these women are incredible activists whether it’s the environment, domestic violence, animal rights or human rights, these ladies are the first to speak up and be part of the solution. I couldn’t admire them more.

Emma Watson and Nikki Reed

Emmas devotion to women is insanely nspiring, she just seems like a beautiful soul and I love Nikki’s passion for animals and the environment, woman after my own heart!

Ellen Pompeo, Scarlette Johansson, Felicia Day, Sarah Wayne Callies, Kim Rhodes, Blake Lively.

Each one of these women is something special… on and off screen. I am a HUGE Marvel fan and Scarlett as Black Widow is one of my favorite characters. I’ve seen Kim Rhodes and Felicia Day kick ass on Supernatural, Sarah Callies blow me away with her performances on prison break and colony. Blake Lively is just a gem, whether its movies or TV like Gossip Girl when I fell in love with Ms Lively! and Oh, Ellen Pompeo, I’ve never related to any TV Character like I do Meredith Grey so thank you.

There’s even more women that inspire me than this, such as Betty White, Carrie Underwood, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy, Lady Gaga, Jillian Michaels, Demi Lovato, Dolly Parton, and many more, but you get the point right? Women kick ass. Whether it’s your mother, grandmother, sisters, wives, actresses, musicians, athletes or politicians, a womans place is where ever she wants to be, doing whatever she wants to do!

I’ll leave this post with a few inspiring kickass woman quotes.

I launched Miss Raee in 2016 purely for a twenty-something girl who is trying to figure it all out, who loves to write and finally decided to share it. I’ve had a hell of a time figuring out what I wanted this blog to be, and I’ve eventually narrowed it down to that I want this blog to be ME, every weird, quirky, loveable aspect of me and even more importantly anyone who also sees themselves as that weird, quirky, loveable person who might love plant-based cooking, multiple fandoms including Star Wars, Supernatural, Greys Anatomy, DC TV, Marvel, The Magicians and SO much more. I found myself being an advocate for mental health, for animals, for the environment, and for equality. I’m a big believer in the vibes you bring, the power of music, and how important the storytelling of books and movies and TV can be. If I’m not on the blog, you can find me sharing selfies and nonsense on Instagram @/amandaraeex3 and live-tweeting and putting in my two cents on twitter at @/amandaraee_x3, so I hope you’ll tag along with me on here and my social media and enjoy all the weird, quirky things we all love.
